The first takes is to concatenate the m2ts files into one big one using something like TSMuxer. To get a single file, you can proceed one of two ways. If you don't like command line utilities, you can check out some eac3to GUIs.ģ. Luckily though, eac3to, a handy command line utility can read the playlists from a Blu-ray and tell you in which order the m2ts files go. During the encoding process, though, this can get a little complicated if you don't know how to determine which file goes where. The reason for this is that for movies with multiple editions or angles, it's more space efficient to reuse the duplicate scenes than to not. The contain a large number of small m2ts files that are concatonated upon playback. Bolt, Ratatouille, WALL-E, Gladiator, and lots of other films are seamlessly branched. I personally do everything from the command line without a GUI for more flexibility, but use whatever is easiest for you.Ģ. There are different GUIs available, such as MeGUI, but in the end, they all use x264 and can output identical results. RipBot264 is fine as it uses the best H.264 encoder you can get: x264. ![]() However, this file only had an English audio stream, so obviously the resulting output was in English.ġ. The file output was 1/10th the size (20MB) and looked freaking great. M2TS file into RipBot264, selected the HQ profile, CQ #22, Dolby True DTS, blah blah blah. I also have the supporting codecs: Halli Matroska Splitter, AviSynth 2.5, ffdshow tryouts, CoreAVC, AC3 Filter, etc. Same principles apply, just different structure in the files (as far as the streams). Let me say that I am not a stranger to this entire process, but I've not done it on Blu-Ray. I know that this is just the audio that's being played because it's the first one in the stream. M2TS files, the audio is in Spanish on this particular title (Bolt). This allows me to have the original copy online, and also to manipulate the version with the copy protection removed.ģ.) Once the files are ripped to the hard drive, with the protection removed, I know that I need the STREAM folder contents. ISO image with Daemon Tools, with AnyDVD HD running in the background, and rip the files from the original. Here's what I have so far:ġ.)
